Where is the fuse located on a Maytag washing machine?

The lid switch assembly containing the fuse, on a Maytag washer, is located behind the control panel console. Removal of the control panel is required to check or replace the fuse. Blown fuses, many times, are indicative of a problem with the switch and replacement of the assembly is recommended.

The fuse is connected to the lid switch, which tells the washer whether the lid is open or closed. For safety reasons, if the switch is not functioning properly the fuse will blow. The lid switch assembly is adjustable, so after replacement it may need to be repositioned for the washer to start properly.
