Is Gail Goestenkors married?

As of May 2014, women's basketball coach Gail Goestenkors is not married. The longtime Duke University head coach has been single since her divorce from fellow basketball coach Mark Simons.

"The Duke Chronicle" states that the seven-time ACC Coach of the Year and Simons met during their days at Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan, where she played on the women's basketball team and Simons coached baseball and men's basketball. The two married in 1997, and split for good in 2006. Goestenkors is currently an assistant coach of the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks, while Simons, a former Auburn assistant, occupies the same position for the Michigan State University women's basketball team.
