Where is Brussels?

Brussels is in the northern part of Belgium. Brussels is Belgium's capital and the de facto capital of the European Union. It is located about 60 kilometers from the North Sea in the valley of the Senne River, and it is surrounded by Wallonia and the Flemish region.

Brussels covers an area of 161.38 square kilometers and had an approximate population of 1,138,854 in 2012. The Brussels Jazz Marathon, the Flower Carpet and the Brussels Film Festival are some of the events celebrated in the city every year. Places of interests include the Grand Palace, the Brussels zoo, Atomium Brussels and the Mini-Europe.
