Two permanent exhibits at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum in New York City include the Historical Exhibition and the Memorial Exhibition. The Historical Exhibition examines life before, during and after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, while the Memorial Exhibition commemorates the lives lost in two World Trade Center tragedies.

The Historical Exhibition presents a timeline of events on September 11 through artifacts, images, video, first-person testimony and real-time audio recordings. It also depicts the circumstances that led to the attacks and why the Center was chosen as a target by way of trial evidence, oral testimony and news footage. This exhibition also examines the aftermath of the attacks.

The Memorial Exhibition presents information about the people who died in both the 9/11 and February 26, 1993, terrorist attacks. It contains family photographs, oral remembrances and rotating selections of personal artifacts.
