Serbia is a country situated in southeastern Europe, covering the southern part of the Pannonian Plain. Serbia is bordered by Hungary to the north, Macedonia and Kosovo to the south, Romania and Bulgaria to the east, and Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro to the west.
Serbia has no coastline, as it as an entirely landlocked country. Serbia covers a total area of approximately 34,000 square miles, making it a little smaller than the state of South Carolina and the 117th largest country in the world. The capital and largest city of Serbia is Belgrade. Serbia has a total population estimated to be around 7.2 million people as of 2014.
