Crosswell Park and Tyl Trail Historic Route are great for hiking, while the Swan Lake Iris Gardens offers excellent bird-watching opportunities. As of 2015, the Sumter County Museum contains historical documents and objects from the Old Sumter District, while the Sumter County Gallery of Art displays art by local, regional and national artists.
