Where is Switzerland located in Europe?

Switzerland is a landlocked country located in Western and Central Europe. It is bordered by Italy, France, Germany, Austria and Liechtenstein.

German, Italian, French and Romansh are the four official languages recognized in Switzerland, with German being the most prevalent. Some of the biggest cities in Switzerland include Zurich, Geneva, Basel, Lausanne and Bern.

Approximately half of Switzerland's population live in urban areas, while the other half live in the suburbs and rural areas. Many urban dwellers retreat to the Alps to enjoy skiing, hiking and other recreational activities.The capital city of Bern is ranked as one of the top 10 cities in the world for its high quality of life.
