Georgia's state amphibian is the American green tree frog, and the state's marine mammal is the right whale. Georgia also chose the largemouth bass as the state fish, the tiger swallowtail as the state butterfly and the brown thrasher as the state bird.
The American green tree frog lives in wetlands and around lakes and ponds with floating debris in the southeastern United States. The frog is bright green with a distinct white or pale yellow line that runs from its eye to its groin, and its diet consists of crickets, flies and worms.
The rare right whale has a massive head that may be up to a third of its total body length. It uses its baleen teeth to eat zooplankton and other tiny organisms as it swims.
