Are there ghosts in Lavender Town?

There are ghosts in the Lavender Town phase of Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow. Lavender Town can be completed in two stages, the first of which features no ghosts.

The ghosts that the player will encounter are located in the Tower and include the ghost of dead Marowak. This ghost cannot be captured and must be defeated.

Players will need to use the Silph Scope to identify all the ghosts in the Tower. The ghost Pokemon will typically be difficult to defeat but they are vulnerable to psychic and ground attacks.

The Silph Scope can be found in Celadon City which can be reached via routes 7 and 8. In addition to the Scope, the player should begin to train a psychic Pokemon for battle early for the best results.
