Is girls basketball scored differently from boys basketball?

Scoring is the same in men's and women's basketball games. Regardless of gender, a shot made with both feet outside the three-point arc is worth three points, baskets made inside the arc are worth two points and a free throw scores a single point.

All other statistics are recorded the same in both a men's and women's game of basketball. Rebounds, steals, assists and fouls are recorded with the same set of rules and parameters. The positions of point guard, off- or shooting-guard, forward are also the same for men and women. The deployment of those positions, and of the types of shots taken, varies greatly from team to team in both men's and women's basketball.
