What are some good crappie jig colors?

White and chartreuse are good colors for crappie jigs. Color combinations that include chartreuse are preferred by most fishermen. However, crappie have excellent eyesight and matching the color choice, or color combinations, to the clarity and condition of the water on a specific day is the most important factor.

The visibility of the jig against the water being fished is generally the best guide. During bright sunlight portions of the day the fisherman will typically do best with the brightest colors in his tackle box. At night dark colors such as black and dark blue tend to be most visible to crappie and the most effective at catching them.
