What is a good cream for athlete's foot?

For mild or moderate cases of athlete's foot, over-the-counter creams, such as Lotrimin and Tinactin, are good choices for treatment, according to WebMD. Other creams include Lamasil and Micatin.
If athlete's foot symptoms do not improve, a prescription cream may be necessary, as stated by WebMD. These creams include Mentax, clotrimazole and Naftin. If the infection occurs on the sole or heel of the foot, over-the-counter creams may not penetrate the thicker skin present there. In these cases, creams that penetrate the skin, such as ketoconazol, may be prescribed. If the infection continues after topical treatment, oral antifungals may be needed.
