Oanda.com provides a free historical exchange rate calculator at its website. Site visitors can convert the values of currencies, such as the U.S. dollar and Japanese yen; precious metals, such as gold and silver; and obsolete currencies, such as the Greek drachma and Italian lira.
The calculator provides historical rates for most major currencies dating back to January 1990, explains Oanda. Users can compare up to six currencies on a line graph or table and filter results by date ranges from one day to five years. The table provides average, high and low bid or ask rates for the selected periods.
