To clean soap scum from shower doors, use all-purpose bathroom cleaners designed to get rid of soap scum, or apply vinegar. Prior to treating soap scum, use hot water or a steam cleaner to loosen soap scum. Alternatively, clean off the built-up soap scum immediately after someone uses the shower.

Dip a sponge into a container of full-strength white vinegar. Coat all shower parts that have soap scum. Repeatedly apply more layers of vinegar as it dries, ideally covering the shower with wet vinegar for at least five minutes. For hard-to-remove soap scum, carefully apply boiling vinegar. Rinse off the vinegar with hot water; the vinegar smell dissipates after three or more showers.
