What is Google Earth's street view feature?

The Google Earth street view feature allows users to view and navigate 360-degree photographic imagery of a city at street level. Users navigate by clicking icons and fronts of buildings to view a three-dimensional street-level environment.

Photographs of streets and metropolitan areas are taken by cameras mounted on automobiles. As of 2014, Google Earth Street View has incorporated more than 40 U.S. cities and suburban areas of many more. Even more locations around the world were added recently. Street View isn't available for all locations, however, so zooming in to a place without it will bring the user to ground-level view instead.
