What is the Easy E-Card scam?

The Easy e-Card scam uses emails that are designed to resemble a legitimate e-Card sent from a user called lovebug1136 with messages indicating that they want to "hook up" with the recipient. If the e-Card link is clicked, users are redirected to a sign-up page for a dating website.

The scam is part of a spam campaign that redirects users to websites that lack legitimacy. Users who sign-up on the website run the risk of losing important personal information, such as credit card numbers. The Easy e-Card scam has been targeting users since at least 2010 with scammers relocating to different domains if one is shut down.
