What government programs offer assistance paying utility bills?

Each state has different organizations designed to help with utility bill payments. For example, Arizona has the Arizona Weatherization Assistance Program and Missouri established the Missouri Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program.

Low-income families needing help with utility payments should check with their states to see what programs are available to them and the income levels necessary to receive help. All state programs require residents to live in the state in which they are seeking assistance, but each has a different qualifying program.
