Does graviola fruit or soursop kill cancer cells?

According to a study published in 1997 in the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, breast cancer cells exposed to graviola in a culture were effective at killing cancer cells. However, no human trials have been conducted, and graviola taken orally or in a tea can harm the human nervous system.

Graviola, or soursop, is an evergreen tree that grows in the rainforest. The leaves, bark and fruit are used to make traditional remedies, but no trials have shown evidence that this compound can treat cancer. In fact, a study published in the Lancet in July 1999 demonstrated that taking graviola can cause neurological damage similar to Parkinson's disease.
