Is there gravity in space?

There is a small amount of gravity in space. This tiny amount of gravity is what scientists call microgravity.

Microgravity is often referred to as zero gravity but this term is incorrect. In microgravity, astronauts in space float around and can move heavy machinery around very easily. At the International Space Station, for example, it may look as if there is no gravity, when in reality, almost 90 percent of the Earth's gravity reaches the station. This is due to objects being in a state of free fall. Free fall is a state in which the mass of an object doesn't make a difference as to how fast an object falls. This is caused by the vacuum of space.
