Do Great Danes shed?

The Great Dane is an average shedder, and its smooth, short coat is easy to groom. Daily grooming is recommended with a strong, bristled brush and the occasional usage of dry shampoo, as bathing the Great Dane can be difficult given its extreme size.

Great Danes are one of the largest of all breeds, capable of reaching 34 inches in height at the shoulder and up to 200 pounds in weight. Despite its intimidating size, the Great Dane has a gentle temperament and is exceptionally good with children. As Great Danes reach large sizes very quickly, proper training is more important than in many other breeds to prevent them from jumping on people.
