What does a guest wear to a Bar Mitzvah?

Guests invited to a Bar Mitzvah typically wear dressy clothes; women wear a dress or pantsuit, while men wear a suit or pants and a jacket. Men, and in some synagogues women, wear head coverings, and those who are not Jewish should consider wearing one as well as a sign of respect. Guests may also be offered a talit, or prayer shawl, but may decline if they are not Jewish or feel uncomfortable wearing one.
