What is the habitat of a great white shark?

The great white shark's habitat is the ocean, particularly the coastal and cool water areas, reports National Geographic. The great white shark is on the endangered species list despite its prowess in the ocean, because fisherman have accidentally caught several in gill nets and overfishing has made it more difficult for the sharks to find food.

The great white shark has as many as 300 serrated and triangular teeth that make it easy to eat large prey. The sharks will eat small-toothed whales, sea turtles, sea lions, carrion and seals. They are fast swimmers and can swim up to 15 miles per hour, thanks to their forceful tails and torpedo-shaped bodies.
