Is the Hairmax LaserComb legit?

The HairMax LaserComb is considered a legitimate product by the Food and Drug Administration, which approved it for use in encouraging hair growth in 2007, as reported by The Wall Street Journal. Researchers have also linked use of the LaserComb over 26 weeks to an average increase of 17 hairs per square centimeter in a study of 110 patients.
However, this study was funded by Lexington International, the company that makes the HairMax LaserComb, according to The Wall Street Journal. Independent scientists have been less supportive, claiming that the product is unlikely to yield results for every user and that any results seen are generally modest and only visible after an extended period of time.
