SURGE soda was discontinued by its manufacturer in the early 2000s and then reintroduced in late 2014 due to popular demand. The re-launched product was only made available online.
SURGE is a citrus-flavored soft drink made by the Coca-Cola Company that had a large fan base during its production in the 1990s and early 2000s. After the drink was discontinued, a group of fans coordinated others through Facebook and petitioned for it to be re-introduced. The group communicated with the Coca-Cola Company through phone calls, handwritten holiday cards, YouTube videos and a billboard near the company's headquarters. SURGE was re-released in 16-ounce cans in September 2014.
