Sam's Plus members receive select prescriptions for free or at a discount, according to the Sam's Club website. Five specific prescriptions are available for free to Sam's Plus members, and members receive an 8 percent discount off regular prices of name-brand prescriptions.

Sam's Plus members pay nothing for donepezil, escitalopram, pioglitazone, vitamin D 50,000 IU and finasteride as of 2015. Members who are not using drug insurance coverage can receive discounts of 10 to 30 percent on specific medications listed on Sam's Club's Extra Value Drug List, which includes hundreds of commonly prescribed medications, according to the Pharmacy section of the Sam's Club website.
