Does having one testicle reduce fertility?

Having only one testicle typically does not reduce fertility. As long as the pituitary gland is functioning normally, a man with one testicle should have normal sperm count levels, according to Dr. Jesse Mills on HealthTap. Losing one testicle has no negative effect on sexual function, notes Everyday Health.
Surgery to remove the affected testicle is a common treatment for men with testicular cancer, according to Everyday Health. To perform the surgery, which is known as a radical inguinal orchiectomy, the surgeon makes an incision in the patient's lower abdomen above the pubic area and then pushes the testicle up and out of the body through the incision.
