Where is Hawaii located geographically?

The Hawaiian Islands lie in the North-Central Pacific Ocean, just south of the Tropic of Cancer. Hawaii is approximately 2,550 miles to the southwest of Los Angeles and about 3,900 miles to the southeast of Tokyo.

Hawaii's capital, the city of Honolulu, lies at 21.3 degrees north and 157.8167 degrees west. Hilo, another major city in Hawaii, lies at 19.43 degrees north and 155.05 degrees west. The Hawaiian Islands are farther from any continental landmass than any other island chain in the world. Hawaii’s southernmost point on the Big Island is over 1,500 miles from its most northern point, the Kure Atoll.
