Where is Hawaii located on a map?

On a world map, the location of Hawaii is in the North Pacific Ocean and to the south of the Tropic of Cancer. It is southwest from Los Angeles, CA, approximately 2,550 miles away.

Hawaii became the 50th state of the United States on August 21, 1959. Hawaii consists of a series of islands. There are major volcanoes on many of these islands, such as Mauna Loa and Kilauea. The eight main islands are Hawaii, Maui, Kauai, Molokai, Oahu, Lanai, Niihau and Kahoolawe. Hawaii is called the "Big Island."

The capital of Hawaii is Honolulu. While its state flower is the Hibiscus brackenridgei, the state tree is the candlenut. This state's nickname is the "Aloha State."
