Domperidone is an anti-emetic that can prevent a person from feeling sick to his stomach, according to Drugs.com. Domperidone can quell feelings of nausea, heartburn, bloating and stomach ache, and can prevent an ill-feeling patient from vomiting.

Domperidone is only available through a prescription from a doctor, notes Drugs.com. Domperidone should be taken before a meal, and the standard dose for an adult is one or two 10 milligram-tablets every three or four hours. The daily intake of this medication should not exceed eight 10-milligram tablets. Side effects that may be a sign of an allergic reaction include problems breathing, skin rash, itching or hives.
