One good homemade remedy for clogged ear canals is a three-step process, advises Mayo Clinic. The steps include softening the wax with baby oil, gently washing out the softened wax with warm water, and drying the canal with a soft towel or a handheld dryer.

Apply baby oil or mineral oil with an eyedropper to soften the wax, according to Mayo Clinic. A day or two later, use a rubber-bulb syringe to squirt the warm water into the blocked canal gently. Tilt the head to straighten the ear canal, then tilt the head the other way to drain the liquid, then dry.
