What is a healthy heart rate for teenagers?

According to WebMD, a healthy resting heart rate for teenagers is between 60 and 100 beats per minute. A resting heart rate should be measured after relaxing for 10 minutes.
WebMD states that the heart rate, or pulse, is often checked by monitoring the artery on the inside of the wrist. Texas's Pediatric Heart Specialists indicate that heart rate in teens varies significantly depending upon what activities they are engaged in at the time of measurement. An intense burst of cardio activity sometimes drives heart rate up to 200 beats per minute, the heart specialists state, but sleep generally lowers the pulse to 30 or 40 beats per minute.
