As of 2015, "Heartland" is still on television. Season nine of the CBC series "Heartland" will debut in Canada in the fall of 2015. In America, Comcast will air season eight of "Heartland" on the UP and UPHD networks beginning April 8, 2015.

The 125th episode of "Heartland" aired on CBC in October 2014, making it the longest-running one-hour drama in Canadian TV history. The series broadcasts in 119 countries. Seasons are usually released on DVD about six months after they end, corresponding with the premiere of the next season. Based on the "Heartland" book series by Lauren Brooke, the show is filmed on location in Calgary and Alberta in Canada.
