During the full 32.5-hour storm, more than 95 inches of snow fell in Silver Lake, Colorado. Throughout much of Denver, snow drifts ranged in depths of 7-8 feet. Damage was widespread with many trees, telephone lines and telegraph poles broken. This longstanding record has been challenged many times since 1921, most notably in November 2014 when nearly 70 inches of snow buried Buffalo, New York. The cleanup from this storm required assistance from the National Guard and left the city crippled for several days.
