No official statements have been made concerning the cancellation of the reality television series "Swamp People," as of October 2015. The History channel plans on a seventh season; however, the network cut cast members Jeromy Pruitt, Liz Cavalier and David LaDart from the show following season six.
"Swamp People" began airing on the History channel on Aug. 22, 2010. The reality show follows the lives of alligator hunters in southern Louisiana and the swamplands of Texas. Dolores Gavin developed the show, which earns 6.3 out of 10 stars on IMDb. The success of "Swamp People" lead to a spinoff show in 2012 called "Outback Hunters," as well as two mobile game apps.
