What are the height restrictions for fighter pilots?
By Forinfos - 10/04/2025 - 0 comments
The U.S. Air forces requires fighter pilots be between 64 and 77 inches tall when standing and between 34 and 40 inches tall when sitting. There are other physical requirements, such as being required to weigh between 160 and 231 pounds, depending on height.
Men may not have more than 20 to 24 percent body fat, while women are allowed no more than 28 to 32 percent. Pilots must also pass a fitness test with a minimum number of push-ups, sit-ups and a timed 1 1/2-mile run. Before becoming a pilot, a candidate must complete 12 weeks of training at an Officer Training School.
