How high should a dart board be off the ground?

The center of the bullseye of a dart board should be 5 feet 8 inches from the floor, according to the National Dart Association. For stability reasons, the board may be mounted a half inch higher or lower.

Players must stand 96 inches away from the dart board, although they may lean over the line. Stepping on the line is acceptable, but a foot crossing the throw line is considered a foul. Three fouls in a single game constitutes a forfeit. Darts must be plastic-tipped with four wings, and must not exceed 8 inches in total length, nor 18 grams in weight.
