Studying history is important to the future of humanity. Knowing what has happened in the past is important if for no other reason than to hopefully prevent humanity from repeating mistakes over and over again.
Keeping a documented history and studying it is one of the most important learning tools humans have. History offers insight into who and what humanity was and shows how people became what they are today. By studying history, people can see how things were done in the past, offering a better understanding of how things are done today and insight into how they should be done in the future.
