What was Aztec transportation like?

The Aztecs main form of transportation was walking. They did not have any animals that could be used as a mode of transportation, and as a result, they had no kind of cart either.
Since the Aztecs had to rely on walking to get from place to place, they had well maintained roads that even had rest stops along the way. In addition, these roads were well guarded, making them safe for everyone to travel on. The Aztec people lived in central Mexico from the sixth century forward, and their empire came to an end in the 1500s when Spaniards took control of it.
