What is Haggadah?

The Haggadah is an important part of a traditional Passover seder; this text is essentially a checklist of events that are to take place during the event. The Haggadah is read in conjunction with the proceeding of the Passover seder, so the text itself is an important part of the holiday.

As an important document for the celebration of Passover, the Haggadah includes explanatory text that helps seder participants not only understand what they are supposed to do but why they are doing it. The word translates from Hebrew to English to mean "telling," and reading the text is often referred to as "telling the Haggadah."
