How are Last Rites given?
By Forinfos - 12/08/2025 - 0 comments
The Last Rites are associated with the Catholic faith and they are administered by a priest, deacon or lay person to individuals who are terminally ill or about to die. The Last Rites are also referred to as the sacrament of dying or the Viaticum.
The Last Rites consist of anointing the forehead of the dying person with sanctified oils and reciting a specific prayer. Communion is then administered to the dying person and the rite is concluded with another prayer and a blessing. Family members are welcome to pray together with the priest or deacon during the Last Rites.
