How often must a rabbit be taken to a veterinarian?

A yearly veterinary examination is adequate for adult rabbits under five years of age, according to House Rabbit Network. However, older rabbits need to be examined by a veterinarian every six months due to the increasing incidence of age-related health issues.
A young rabbit may need to visit the vet several times during the first year of life for vaccinations and exams, but healthy adult rabbits typically need only a yearly exam unless an emergency situation occurs. Older rabbits have more health problems, and they can also develop severe problems more quickly, so exams every six months are recommended to catch illnesses as soon as possible.
