Section 30-91(D) of the Connecticut General Statutes states that it is illegal to sell alcohol on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Restaurants operating under a tavern permit may serve alcohol during normal operating hours on holidays.
In Connecticut, alcohol may be sold Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., unless the establishment operates under a cafe or tavern permit, in which case alcohol may be sold from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Monday through Friday or between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Any town may alter these hours by a town meeting vote.
