What cleaners should be used on glass stove tops?

Cerama Bryte Ceramic Cooktop Cleaner, Weiman Glass Cook Top Cleaner and Whirlpool Cooktop Cleaner are all designed to work on smooth stove tops. Cerama Bryte is recommended by GE and the manufacturer often includes a sample with its stoves. A special scraper is also available that removes burned-on food.

Before applying cleaners to the stove top, the surface must be cool. Applying a second coat of Cerama Bryte is recommended after the initial cleaning to polish the glass surface. Melted plastic or sugar can cause permanent damage to a glass cook top, and users should scrape them away while the stove is still warm.
