What is a GFCI schematic?

A GFCI schematic is a wiring diagram of a ground fault circuit interrupter. Some types of GFCI wiring schematic include receptacle and switch schematics, diagrams of protected duplex receptacles with multiple GFCIs, and unprotected light with GFCI schematics.
GFCI schematics typically include one or more GFCI receptacles, each with two sets of wiring labeled "Line" and "Load"; "Hot" and "neutral" current wires; and a labelled electrical source.
A GFCI safety outlet is used to protect people from electrical shock due to faulty or damaged wiring. A GFCI detects imbalances in ingoing and outgoing electrical currents and automatically cuts off the electrical supply if an imbalance occurs.
