What is rubber trim seal?

A rubber trim seal is an edge protection strip used around doors or windows to drown out noise, eliminate vibration or provide protection from the elements. These seals may be manually fitted on windows or doors, or installed with a magnetic strip or self-adhesive tape.
Rubber trim seals may be placed throughout the edges of doors or windows or just around corners that require better fitting. The rubber trim works like a gasket for the entrance and makes it airtight, protecting the home from weather, dust or noise. Installing seals keeps warm air inside during winter and prevents cool air from air conditioners seeping out.
