"Pet Semetary," "The Shining," "Carrie," "Cujo," "The Green Mile" and "It" are examples of some popular movies based on Stephen King novels. Other films based on King's novels include "Children of the Corn," "Christine," "The Dark Half," "Dreamcatcher" and "Rose Red."

Some of the movies based on King's novels have been nominees or winners of various film awards. For example, "The Shining" was nominated for a prime-time Emmy award when it was shown as a miniseries in 1997. Additionally, "The Green Mile" was nominated for several Oscars in 2000, including best picture and best screenplay based on a previously published work, and "Sleepwalkers" won the award for best screenplay at the 1992 Fantafestival.
