The Surge 24 Volt Electric Skateboard and the Fantom 1.0 are two electric skateboards that can typically be purchased for under $200 from vendors, as of 2015. The Surge is manufactured by Dynacraft, and the Fantom is built by Altered Skateboards.

Both boards are controlled by a wireless hand-held remote control, and the electric motor is found on the bottom of the board between the wheels. The Fantom can travel up to 10 mph while the Surge's top speed is 6 mph. A full charge on the Surge's battery gives 45 minutes of run time. The Fantom's battery runs for 40 minutes when fully charged.
