Brick, concrete, cork and vinyl are inexpensive options for kitchen flooring. The kitchen is usually one of the most expensive areas of the home for flooring as it is a high-traffic area.
Brick ranges in cost from $1 to $4 per square foot for basic materials, though there is an additional cost for sealing. Concrete costs up to $2 per square foot to pour a new kitchen slab and has minimal maintenance expenses. Cork costs as much as $4 per square foot and installation is fairly inexpensive. Vinyl ranges between $2 and $5 per square foot and is very low-maintenance.
