A Maid-Rite sandwich contains loose meat, seasoned, fresh ground beef, served on an oven-warmed bun. Traditional Maid-Rite loose meat sandwiches are comprised of USADA Midwestern ground beef, with a choice of mustard, ketchup, pickles and onion.
The Maid-Rite classic menu includes the Cheese-Rite (original with cheese), the Pulled Pork Sandwich, the Tenderloin and the Chicken Sandwich. All created with fresh, seasoned meat and served on a warmed bun with a choice of condiments and toppings.
Beyond the classics, Maid-Rite now also offers "signature" sandwiches, which are more creative versions still based off of the original, loose meat beef sandwich. Signature sandwiches include the Bleu-Rite (original with bleu cheese), the Rare-Bit (served open-faced with cheddar cheese) and the Italian-Rite (with Italian sausage and marinara sauce). The menu also includes wraps and salads for the more health-conscious diner, malts and shakes for dessert and sides like French fries, onion rings and cole slaw.
With locations throughout Iowa, Maid-Rite now features delivery and online ordering, as well as merchandise, party packs and a loyalty card.
Fred Angeli, a butcher in Iowa, spent his free time trying to create the perfect sandwich. In 1926, after working to get the precise combination of spices and meat, Fred created the Maid-Rite sandwich. The
Maid-Rite tradition began then and continues today. Maid-Rite restaurants are franchised, and franchising opportunities are available nationwide.
