GEICO, Esurance and State Farm are some of the auto insurance companies that offer discounts to drivers who take online defensive driving classes. The discounts range from 5 percent to 10 percent.
At GEICO, drivers can save up to 10 percent on auto insurance coverage if the driver completes a defensive driving course. Further, GEICO also offers discounts to young drivers who have completed a driver’s education course.
Esurance offers the discount to drivers age 50 or older who have completed a defensive driving or driver improvement class. However, discounts for drivers from New York, New Jersey, Oklahoma and Georgia are not age-based. The coverage savings are up to 10 percent and can last for three years.
State Farm offers a 5 percent discount to drivers who have taken a driver safety course. Drivers up to age 25 can get a 15 percent discount on insurance coverage if they have completed the Steer Clear course.
